Thank you for helping get important information out to the people in our county. Other than the nasty & deceitful ads on TV and a few political mailers, it feels like we live in an information desert in regards to local & even some state politics. What resources do you recommend for researcing candidates & ballot initiatives?

Great question! I did a lot of research just through the search engine Quant. It's private, as far as sharing info or keeping a record of who searched for what. Duck Duck Go also is good.

A lot of the info I got from ballotpedia.com or typing in amendments for Missouri ballot Nov. 2.

https://rumble.com/user/MoRINOWatch discusses all the amendments, so that's a good resource as well.

As you're searching around, please share good resources and info you find back with the group via Comments, and Thanks for digging and voting!!!

Hm...I thought I just sent you a reply, but I'm not seeing it on the post, so I'll try again.

My main sources have been my search engine, Quant, which keeps my searches private. Duck Duck Go also keeps searches private, so is a good choice.

Ballotpedia.com gives some info on our amendments, but doesn't do a deep dive.

https://rumble.com/user/MoRINOWatch is EXCELLENT on deeper dives, and has a whole series discussing the Missouri Constitution, why it was written the way it is, etc. GO THERE for sure!

On national topics I love reading "Coffee and Covid" by Jeff Childers. He also is on substack.com. He's an attorney, so you get a legal perspective on things plus his funny snarky little comments. He's a Christian, so you get that perspective as well.

HAPPY HUNTING, MY FRIEND!!!! ๐Ÿ˜

The best sources, IMHO, are the candidates themselves. Yes, there are a lot of them, but frankly, during the campaign season is the most opportune time to get their attention. If they are not responsive when they are looking for your vote, how responsive will they be when they get elected? Personally have met every candidate on my ballot, and I am out campaigning for 3 of them. My ballot, (Jackson County) also has a lot of judges on it. I started with https://yourmissourijudges.org/judges/ and read through the performance reviews for each one, although it really does not tell you if they are either activist judges, or how strictly they stick to the constitution. So I looked up each one, to see who nominated them. I will just vote Y for each R nominated one, and N for each D nominated one. Not a perfect system, but in our county, one of the party committee people also consulted a couple of attorneys who weighed in, that list is at https://www.jacomo.gop/2022_voter_guide Some of those judges may not be on your ballot, so you will need to download a sample ballot to check.
