We the People of Johnson Couty Missouri, Sunday, January 28, 2024 📝 Response to O'Laughlin & Rowden Senatorial Actions
Hi Folks,
We have written a response letter to Senators O’Laughlin and Rowden regarding their actions taken against our Conservative Caucus Senators Brattin, Eigel, Hoskins and Koenig. You’ll see it below.
I’m disappointed the Johnson County Republican Central Committee has decided to do nothing. Any of you considering running for the JCRCC, let this encourage you to join the JCRCC and help make a difference in our county.
I’m also surprised and disappointed our Republican Women’s group is doing nothing. Sometimes people forget that “doing nothing” is how we got where we are today.
Regardless, our statement is below. If you are considering making the trek to Jefferson City this coming Tuesday, Jan. 30, 11AM on the 2nd floor of the Capitol Building for the “We Want Our State Back” rally…
GO FOR IT!!!!!!
You’ll see a lot a friends!!!
My understanding is that Senator Eigel’s support group has committed to 300 attendees!!!
Can we match them????!?!?!
It will require every single one of us taking 1 to 3 people with us.
LET’S DO IT!!!!
Republican Women, a call out to YOU!!!! Are you wishing your group would do something? Be the ONE WHO DOES IT!!!
Members of the JCRCC….are there some of you who want to RALLY???? COME ON DOWWWWNNN!!!
OTHERS???? COME ONE, COME ALL!!!! THIS WILL BE EXHILERATING FOR SURE!!!
Okay, and NOW….HERE’S OUR LETTER!!!
For Immediate Release: 1/28/2024
We the People of Johnson County Missouri, strongly condemn the actions of Missouri State Senate President Pro Tem Caleb Rowden and Senate Majority Leader Cindy O’Laughlin on Jan. 23, 2024. We believe the removal of committee positions was in retaliation against Senators Brattin, Hoskins, Eigel, and Koenig for doing what their constituents sent them to Jefferson City to do: fight for us.
They broke no Senate rules. What were they guilty of?
• Demanding that Senators have time to read and review the bills they are asked to vote on.
• Recognizing the danger our state faces with the current initiative petition process from radical groups who, among other things, seek to make abortion rights a guaranteed right enshrined in our constitution.
• Standing in the way of special interest groups hijacking legislation that benefits those groups and these leaders at our cost.
Senate leadership might be surprised to learn that we, the voters, expect our Senators and Representatives to not only read every bill they vote on but also understand how it will affect those they represent.
IP reform should be the top priority of the Missouri legislature. We must fix the current system that has allowed powerful groups outside Missouri to easily change our constitution. This has brought us legalized marijuana, and now threatens to bring abortion-on-demand as a constitutionally guaranteed right if nothing is done.
From last year's legislative session, it was clear to the citizens of Missouri that our “Republican Super-Majority” was representing the lobbyists that line the halls of the Capitol building, and not the tax-paying citizens who put them in office.
Removing the committee positions of our local Senator Brattin was a direct attempt to silence the people of the 31st district. We sent Senator Brattin to protect our rights and promote the values of our community. The same can be said for the citizens represented by Senators Hoskins, Eigel, and Koenig.
Senate leadership targeted these men as obstructionists, but the message sent to their constituents was clear: the Senate leadership doesn’t care what the people want from their state government. Senators Rowden, O’Laughlin, and the others who made this decision will do whatever is necessary to silence our voices, including being as petty and childish as removing our Senator's parking spaces.
Therefore, we call on the Senate leadership to fully reinstate the positions of Senators Rick Brattin, Denny Hoskins, Bill Eigel, and Andrew Koenig. Further, we call upon Senate President Pro Tem Caleb Rowden and Senate Majority Leader Cindy O’Laughlin to resign their leadership positions immediately. They have betrayed the trust bestowed on them by Missourians and abused the power entrusted to them.
-We the People of Johnson County Missouri

Great job on the letter!!! I’m surprised more county central committees haven’t chimed in. Senators Brattin, Hoskins, Eigel and Koenig need and deserve our support. They are fighting for conservative values that reflect the Republican platform. Those Republicans who don’t support them are probably showing their true color: purple — which is a blend of red and blue. I’m tired of campaign conservatives who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.
