We the People of Johnson County Missouri, Tuesday, October 3, 2023 🖨📃 Business Night, Websites and Info
Hi Folks!
I have lots of information for you!
Business Night
As many of you know, our We the People of Johnson County Missouri meeting for MONDAY, November 20, will be a Business Fair Night! We’ll have tables set up so each business can display their brochures, pamphlets, business cards, etc. Then attendees can meet and greet business folks to find great connections for stuff you need or need done!
Big SHOUT OUT to Verna Jenkins, Dee Ann Poole and Laurel Morton who are helping think of, and contact businesses!! 😁
So far, we’ve accumulated a list of 30 businesses to contact. At this point we have 7 Yes; 1 No; 6 Calls outstanding and more calls to make!
If you know a business we should contact put the name, person to contact and phone number in the Comments section or message me from our fb page. (This is Rachel Gifford, in case you didn’t know!)
Also, if you would be willing to bring cookies or some other treat, let me know. We’re hoping to need at least 100 - 150 cookies! Again, put that either in the Comments or message me.
UCM Homecoming Parade
Denny Hoskins, Rick Brattin and Matt Sergent will have a truck in the parade, and asked if any of us would like to walk with them. Jerry and I definitely will be walking with them, and any of you who want to, again, let us know in Comments or message me.
This should be fun! If you get tired, you can pile into the back of Rick’s truck! I think. I haven’t asked him. 😬 Maybe I should, eh? 😂😂
They’ll bring shirts for us to wear. Probably should put on your own shirt for the ride over; you can put one of their shirts over yours. Do I sound like your mother…? 🧓
Date is Saturday, October 21, and we need to be there to line up for the parade at 8:00am. I know…early for a Saturday morning!!
Informational Websites
Some of you have asked where to find information for political and legislative activity for the conservative candidates and events. So…
Repaccmo.com
This is where you can find ALL kinds of information about the Republican Central Committees in our Missouri Counties, what they do, how they’re organized, and why YOU should run for Committeeman or woman.
I RECOMMEND CLICKING THROUGH SOME OF THE TABS BEFORE OUR NEXT MEETING, SO YOU’LL HAVE SOME INFO BEFORE YOU HEAR MELISSA SPEAK.
WHEN IS OUR NEXT MEETING???? TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17.
You caught the TUESDAY, October 17, right? TUESDAY.
ONLY in October.
Then we go back to MONDAYS.
NEXT, we have MO.gov
This is an amazing website for all kinds of information on Missouri. The screen shot I put above discusses spending of each candidate. How much? For what? When? Why? …and so on. You also can type in different commissions to learn more about, like I typed in Public Service Commission.
There I found a form for requesting information. I asked for the Oath of Office for Scott Rupp and the other two Commissioners, and they were emailed back to me the next morning!
Surf through this one to find out what all they have. On the left side you’ll see: New & Events, Online Services, Visit Missouri…you can click on each tab and find out what it tells you.
GREAT RESOURCE!
Ratings.conservative.org
I LOVE this website. You can find out scorecard ratings for how senators or representatives voted. You can check out a specific year, several year term or lifetime rating. I checked out lifetime for the 3 candidates running for Senator. Rick Brattin wins!
Click on any of the tabs across the top: Congress, State Legislatures, Lawmakers, Compare Lawmakers, Issues and Bills (they brought to the floor…not their mortgage payment), and you can find out even more about what certain people have accomplished in Jeff City.
MORE GREAT INFORMATION!!! Search away! Click tabs! Go crazy!!!
jodigrace.com
Jodi Widhalm, who is doing the Awakening at the Wall workshop at Cowboy Church Saturday, October 21 provides this website. Jodi is amazing, and so is the info on her website.
You can see the tabs across the top, so click on those and find her blog, subscribe, donate, find her events, etc.
During legislative sessions Jodi attends pretty much all of them, blogs about what’s happening, who’s voting for what, as well as providing numbers/emails for people we need to call to block a bill or move it forward. She lives in Jeff City and knows the Capitol like the back of her hand! Maybe even the front of her hand!
She is a terrific woman and God is using her mightily in moving Missouri toward God and the Right.
You can register for the Awakening at the Wall event at Cowboy Church 10/21 by clicking on her Events tab, finding this specific event and clicking on it!! The cost is $20 and it covers both lunch and presentations/activites.
I know, it’s the same day as the UCM Homecoming parade, but Jerry and I are walking in the parade, and then we’ll be late to Cowboy Church. Oh well. Best we can do!
Okay, that’s enough homework for this week! Be sure to leave me Comments or message me about:
Businesses we should include: Business name, contact name and phone number
