We the People of Johnson County Missouri, Monday, January 1, 2024 🗓️ Dates for Your Calendar!! Mock Caucus; Kick-Off; JCRCC
Hi Folks!
Some exciting events coming up! See below…

I’m excited about this!! Not just because food will be served, which is ALWAYS a big PLUS FOR ME (😃), BUT I feel like Matt is a straight-shooter and wants to take what the PEOPLE WANT to Jeff City.
You may not feel that way, and that’s fine, too! 🙂
If you ARE excited, please reach out to at least 5 friends and invite them. I’d LOVE to blow the doors off Fitters with attendees! Well, not LITERALLY, but you know. 🥳🎉🎊
The next event is an exciting and fun learning experience! For all y’all who didn’t know Missouri is electing their Primary Presidential Candidate via CAUCUS instead of ELECTION, that’s the news flash.
Caucus is a more cumbersome way to do it, and I hope in the future we actually do PRIMARY ELECTION where the PEOPLE decide by VOTING who they want to put on the Republican ballot for Presidential choice.
HOWEVER, THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE FOR 2024, SO WE NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DO IT EFFECTIVELY!!! SO, here’s where we learn:
Mock Caucus being held at:
Real Life Assembly of God Church 180 W. Broadway Street / Peculiar, MO starts at 7:00pm.
I’ll give you the short version of how a caucus works, but I can tell you, knowing the PROCESS will help a LOT in getting your candidate on the ballot. Keep in mind, this is only choosing the PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE for the Missouri ballot. Not Representatives, not Senators, etc. ONLY THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.
Here’s the short version:
Put the ACTUAL caucus on your calendar for March 2.
I think the location and time will be announced at the next Johnson County Republican Central Committee (JCRCC) meeting, so I encourage you to attend that:
Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024 Johnson County Justice Center, (directly across the street to the NORTH of the County Courthouse) starts at 5:30pm, but arrive by 5-ish, as the doors are closed and locked at 5:30pm
Selecting the Caucus Chair - The JCRCC Chair will open the ACTUAL CAUCUS meeting (March 2), then the Presiding Chair for the Caucus will be selected from nominees. If you have someone who would do a good job with Parliamentary Procedures and keep the meeting flowing, talk to them about being a nominee for Caucus Chair.
A Slate of Delegates (SoD) will be selected to carry the final vote of the Local (Johnson County) Caucus forward to the State and Congressional levels. If you would like to be part of the SoD, you MUST bring a written and complete listing of delegates, including yourself, to the Local Caucus. That list must include delegates and alternates who have already agreed to be delegates/alternates. The SoD must be complete. No incomplete SoD will be considered, and we can’t pick and choose from various Slates. The specifics of how many delegates/alternates, what they do, etc. will be discussed at the following Mock Caucus being held at:
Real Life Assembly of God Church 180 W. Broadway Street / Peculiar, MO starts at 7:00pm.
I ENCOURAGE YOU TO ATTEND, AS THIS PROCESS IS COMPLICATED, AND A WALK-THROUGH WILL BE TREMENDOUSLY HELPFUL FOR ALL OF US. Jerry and I will be there, so we can hold each other’s hands! 😉
A selection process for preferred Presidential candidate for the Missouri Ballot will occur. If a candidate wins by 50+1%, that candidate will be carried forward and voted for by the chosen Slate of Delegates to the State and Congressional level caucus meetings.
If no Presidential candidate receives 50+1% of the vote that’s when pandemonium may break out and the wildcats set fire to the courthouse. Just sayin’. Okay, I’m exaggerating. But only just a little. Things go into percentages of who got what vote, negotiation for partial percentages of votes occur, and in all honesty, we need somebody who UNDERSTANDS THE NEGOTIATION PROCESS to lead that event.
Preferred Presidential Candidates can be won or lost depending on the negotiator.
Again, I encourage ALL OF US to attend the Mock Caucus meeting.
I know, I’m repeating myself, but this is really important. It could be that whoever you think is the best Presidential Candidate might not even show up on the Missouri ballot. ACK!!!
Again, time and place for Mock Caucus:
Real Life Assembly of God Church 180 W. Broadway Street / Peculiar, MO starts at 7:00pm. - Come Early.
SO! You have 3 important dates/events to get on your calendars:
Mock Caucus meeting: Monday, Jan. 8; 7:00pm - 9:00pm; Real Life Assembly of God Church 180 W. Broadway Street / Peculiar, MO
Matt Sergent Campaign Kick-off: Thursday, Jan. 11; 5:30pm - 7:30pm; Fitters
Johnson County Republican Central Committee (JCRCC): Tuesday, Jan. 16; Johnson County Justice Center, (directly across the street to the NORTH of the County Courthouse) starts at 5:30pm, but arrive by 5-ish, as the doors are closed and locked at 5:30pm
PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH PEOPLE YOU KNOW WHO CARE ABOUT SUCH EVENTS!
NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO GO BACK TO SLEEP. WE MUST BE DILIGENT TO GET OUR COUNTRY, OUR STATE, OUR COUNTY AND OUR TOWN BACK.
Love you!!!
