My comment to Evergy, and the MO energy commission. I feel that the new Evergy time of use plan is designed to punish working families. The highest rates will be from 4- 8 pm. What happens from 4-8 pm. Working parents end their work days and children come home from school. Supper has to be cooked, homework has to be done, a load of laundry started, and overall our homes are busy with the business of living in them. The ac/furnace, computers/screens, appliances, etc. get used the most at this time since that is the time when families actually live in their homes. Why does the energy company want to financially punish the traditional American family. Their new 'plan' isn't based on smart energy use, energy saving lifestyles, or amount of energy used. It is a 'plan' that punishes families for the most basic energy needs. Basically, I can be a big box store and run every light fixture for sale all day long and pay less for kw hour than a family using a few lights at home for homework and food prep after work.
