We the People of Johnson County Missouri, Thursday, January 11, 2024 This Substack Account...
Hi Folks!
I’ve learned something about substack.com. Apparently, when the emails come to you there is a button that says something to the effect of, “Do you want to give paid support”? or something like that. Those don’t show up on my preview pages of posts.
Here’s what’s happened. I’ve gotten pledges from people saying they want to financially support the emails I’m sending. I thought that was really strange, so I dug into the substack back office and realized readers can do that even though our We the People substack is FREE. Who knew?!
I thought about it for a little while, asked folks for advice on “should we take donations?”, and here’s what seems right. I WILL NOT CHARGE FOR THE SUBSTACK EMAILS.
If you feel inclined to donate to We the People of Johnson County Missouri through the substack posts, feel free to do so. There is NO obligation. PERIOD.
I’ll set up my back office to accept donations, so the folks who already have pledged money can have that happen. If you’d like to donate, go for it. Otherwise, just enjoy the info I send out, and I hope it’s helpful!
Please realize it may take me a little while, and maybe some help from our resident Website Guru, Mike Compton, to get the back-office payment thing set up, so don’t get impatient. We’ll get there!
AGAIN, SUBSTACK EMAILS ARE FREE.
If you want to give a donation, you can (in a few days or so….🙂) We are not a 501(c)3 nor do we plan to become one, so I don’t know that donations are tax deductible. I’m not a CPA nor do I play one on TV, so don’t take this as tax advice, okay? Okay!
Thanks for your patience, and for those of you who have already pledged donations, for your generosity!! You’ve forced me to learn something new! That’s a good thing in and of itself!
