We the People of Johnson County Missouri, Monday August 14, 2023 ⚡🌩 Next WTP Meeting: Missouri Evergy Electric Rate Changes & Heritage Action for America
Hi Folks!!
At our last We the People meeting Kirk Walker brought up a concern about the upcoming changes in what people would pay for electricity in Warrensburg. The city, and much of the state of Missouri covered by Evergy is changing to time-based electricity fees. Several of us did some research into what’s happening, and Kirk will be presenting the information at our next We the People of Johnson County Missouri meeting:
Monday, August 21, 2023 7:00pm Johnson County Fairgrounds
You can view the information ahead of time at this link: Electric Rate Increase Discussion
I encourage everybody to click into the ppt presentation link and familiarize yourselves with the information. There’s a lot to take in, and some financials you’ll want to understand better.
As an fyi, I contacted West Central Electric (WCE) who provides electricity to most rural areas, and they will not be changing their billing format next year. They may succumb to doing so in time, but there are no current plans to change.
What I understood from speaking with WCE is that electrical use is calculated monthly. The amount of electricity used each month is allotted for via their usual electricity plant. If there is electricity required above that allotment, another plant will be started up to cover the overage, and that “start up” increases the cost of electricity.
That is my rough description. I get the gist of it, but recommend asking others who have a better understanding of this than I do.
Take a look at the link information!!!
Heritage Action for America (←link) is our next group to present, and Matt Crouch will be our presenter.
Information I gleaned from the Heritage Action website describes the group as such:
Heritage Action was founded in 2010 and is armed with the research and policies of The Heritage Foundation.
Their mission is to fight for conservative policies in Washington, D.C. and in state capitals across the country. Heritage turns ideas into bills and bills into law.
Instrumental to achieving these policy victories are a trained network of Heritage Action Sentinels. Sentinels are boots-on-the-ground, grassroots Americans; They are engaged citizens and local leaders who work for the betterment of America at all levels of society.
Heritage Action reinforces the grassroots work of Sentinels with our first-class team of state directors and government relations specialists in Washington. Together, Heritage Action and Sentinels are fighting for America’s future.
You may want to think about the option of becoming a Sentinel. We the People of Johnson County Missouri is here to provide EDUCATION, so We the People can GET INVOLVED in a way that fits for you. The time to sit by and hope “Someone Else” will get things done is OVER.
🚂🚂🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋 “Someone Else” got run over by the Communist train, so the rest of us are going to have to get busy.
You may not be Paul Revere, but you might be Betsy Ross.
Or Esther from the book of the Bible that bears her name.
Or Mary, Martha’s sister, who spends her time talking with Jesus every moment she gets.
Or George Washington.
Or Martha Washington.
Or Christopher Columbus who found “the New World.” Right now we could use finding a new world within our current world that’s being shoved around and lied to.
Maybe you’re someone who loves to share these posts with others via fb, email, X - formerly known as Twitter, Instagram, etc……

Hint: Ask God; He’ll show you.
