We the People of Johnson County Missouri, Tuesday, January 2, 2024 🎉🎆 Happy New Year Thoughts!!!!
Hi Folks!
Happy New Year!!! I think 2024 is going to be a Beautiful and Surprising year. I obviously don’t know what God has in store for me/us, but here are a few promises to let soak into your bones!
Isaiah 43: 18-19 Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a NEW thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it??? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
…a NEW thing. God is doing a NEW thing! YESSSSSSSSS! I love that!!! What new thing is He doing in YOU? In us as a country? In me personally? In our families? In our We the People group? A NEW thing…oh my gosh that has me feeling all warm and tingly! What NEW thing is God bringing about?
Will He continue to wake us up to His Presence?
Will He help us FEAR NOT?!
Will He use each day to increase our JOY and strengthen our relationship with Jesus??
Will he change our schools, so children learn helpful reading, writing, math, true history…instead of being indoctrinated to things that are not true and told to live by those lies as if they were true?
Will he change our attitudes about life?
Lots of JOY ahead!!!
How about Psalm 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be GLAD in it.
Me: Yeah Lord, but sometimes there are a lot of bad things in days. Really.
God: Rachel, in this life you will have troubles. That is a Reality. But TAKE HEART! I have overcome the world.
Me: Right. I know that’s one of the verses I memorized. I like the message! Really though, I’m not kidding, how can I ignore horrible things and just sing-song along as if everything is okay, when it really isn’t? That’s NOT right.
God: Let me tell you a story. There was an old gentleman wo had been a coal miner all his life. His lungs were weakened from breathing coal dust. He was skinny and his back was bowed from heavy work. He sat down at his dinner table to a meager bowl of watery soup and picked up a piece of bread with coal-stained hands. Then he set it back down and bowed his head. “All this, and Jesus, too! All this, and Jesus, too!!!!” He raised his head, snarfed his bread, drank his soup, and laughed out loud at his good fortune.
Me: Um…I know there are people FAR less fortunate than I am, God. I know that. But some days are just hard, no matter what. Really.
God: Many days hold hard things. And ALL days hold me. And I hold YOU. Your home is in heaven. Keep your mind there, and on the fact that every step you take: joyous, difficult, uphill, downhill, twisted, painful, or beautiful. EVERY step I’m leading you. EVERY step. Know THAT.
Me: But what if I fail in the job You’ve given me? Like, miserably.
God: Take my strong hand and walk with me; I will control the outcome. As such, you can’t fail. Period. Stay in my Presence.
Me: In YOUR Presence Lord, I AM glad. Thank you SO much!!!
David’s Psalm to God: Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of Life; in Your Presence is fullness of JOY; at YOUR Right Hand are pleasures forevermore.
God: True that.
STRENGTHEN ME IN YOU, LORD. EVERY DAY. THANK YOU FOREVER. I LOVE YOU.
Have an awesome 2024. God is waiting for us.
