We the People of Johnson County Missouri, Thursday, August 24, 2023 Meeting Wrap-Up & Next Steps
Hi Folks!
Fiesty meeting Monday!!! Many thanks to ALL of you for being there and your energetic participation! You obviously read the information we sent in the pre-meeting substack posts and were ready to roll! You are WTP Marines!
First things first.
I was really impressed with Matt Crouch and what Heritage Action for America is doing. I’ve signed up to be a Sentinel, as have several other We the Peoples of Johnson County.
What I know so far is that what WTP does actually is Sentinel work. Other time commitments include: being on a Monday morning conference call that updates everyone on both federal and state bills, that Heritage is working toward getting passed in Houses and Senates, and reading through a weekly newsletter with further updates.
Something I would love to see us organize are trips to Jeff City while Missouri sessions are ongoing January through May. Maybe 4 or 5 trips at essential times when important bills are being worked through House/Senate. Heritage will keep Sentinels aware of when these events are happening so we can coordinate.
Here is the site to read more about the work of Heritage Action for America, and the work of Sentinels. You can also become a Sentinel on the website. My understanding is that you can do as much as you can handle, and tailor your activities to what is reasonable for you.
Go there now. I’ll be waiting for you when you come back here.
I think working as a Sentinel through Heritage can greatly magnify what we’re already doing by:
Giving us more targeted information so we can coordinate our efforts
Amplifying our voice as we work with others.
Take a look at their website and we can work together to change the WORLD!!!!! It needs it!!
Okay, now second things, second…the downlow on the time-based electric rates.
Here’s what I heard from Scott Rupp, Chair of the PSC Board:
The same marketing pitch we already knew. However, despite the fact Scott knew we already knew that information, he repeated it several times. WHY?
When he was interrupted with questions, he just reiterated the same marketing pitch. Again, WHY?
Questions asked by different members of the audience that were NOT answered included:
If there is concern about “brown outs” with the electrical grid, why is Missouri NOT building another booster plant?
Instead of a booster plant, Rupp is pushing a plan of timed-based energy rationing. If you use energy from 4pm to 8pm, the time designated as “peak” by the Missouri energy regulators, you will pay an elevated penalty price. HOW DOES THAT HELP US GET THE ENERGY WE NEED?
Are the discussed “brown outs” real? Or are they another, “The sky is falling/pandemic” ploy, to get people to fall in step with timed energy rationing?
It appears to be another deliberate government division among the people: The energy compliers vs the energy non-compliers.
If Evergy, the energy company providing our energy, DOES NOT WANT TIME-BASED BILLING, but would prefer to build a booster plant instead, WHY ARE MISSOURI REGULATORS FORCING THEM AWAY FROM BUILDING, BUT TOWARD ENERGY RATIONING? Isn’t the definition of fascism “government dictating to businesses how they will be run”? (Hint: Yes. It’s the China Way. At least one member of the CCP {Chinese Communist Party} is on the Board of every business in China. Including American businesses. It’s a requirement.)
WHY ON EARTH IS MISSOURI DEPENDENT ON AN ENERGY COMPANY THAT IS A MONOPOLY????? This monopoly needs to be dismantled, as was “Ma Bell.” Fyi, Texas has 4 or 5 different companies supplying Texans with energy, and competition is pushing down prices. Hm…I think that’s called Capitalism, right?
Why is Scott Rupp PUSHING Missouri to participate in this time-based billing along with 2 very BLUE states (CA & MI)? Apparently, Missouri is now complying with a Blue state “billing experiment.” WHY, WHY WHY??!?!!??
WHY is Missouri’s prime-time billing 5X higher than either of the other 2 states in the experiment?
All of these very important questions were asked in one way or another, yet Scott Rupp diverted from answering them, back into his Marketing pitch.
We are following up on this.
Next month, Cindy O’Laughlin, Missouri Senate Majority Leader who has been fighting time-based energy billing, will be speaking with us.
Mrs. Verna Jenkins has an “in” with Ms. O’Laughlin, and she’s making this happen!!! Thank you, Verna!
Jerry and I are meeting with Kirk and Brina Walker, who brought up the initial red flag about the time-based energy billing and got Scott Rupp to attend Monday’s meeting, to discuss more “next steps.”
In addition, I’ll be working with Matt Crouch to see how Heritage Action may be able to bring attention to our problem and work toward a solution. Hopefully, like dismantling utility monopolies.
Okay, that’s my wrap! Please leave your thoughts in the Comments section, as we need all of us to be thinking about what to do with this situation. If I left out something, put that in the Comments section as well!
Keep PRAYING. The Wisdom and Power of God TRUMPS EVERYTHING else. We need God’s Guidance.
In case you’ve procrastinated on checking out the work of a Sentinel, here’s the link again.
Love you guys!
We just need to follow the money..,, there has GOT to be a money trail between Evergy and Rupp..., since Rupp is the ONLY person, besides Evergy, PUSHING the proposed "plan".
Rupp needs to prove that Missouri NEEDS the proposed plan, he has failed miserably.
The same situation holds true with Warrensburg SCARING its residents that if the city didn't go TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS in debt, the sewer system will OVERLOAD. The scare TACTIC WORKED; Warrensburg is now an ADDITIONAL 22 MILLION dollars in debt.
