We the People of Johnson County Missouri Wednesday, February 5, 2025 😊🗞️ Lots of GOOD NEWS!!!
Hi Folks!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had SO MUCH FUN reading the news on Town Hall, Epoch Times, Newsmax and AON (America Online News)!!! I wake up every morning saying, “This is the day the Lord hath made! I will rejoice and be glad! And what has Trump done TODAY!!!!” 😊😊
Oh my gosh, it IS a BRAVE NEW world!!! I’ve become a news junkie. I read what Trump is doing with DOGE, FBI, USAID, Mexico and Canada, the border, terrorists drug cartels, and the Dept of Education, and I can’t believe he’s only been in office TWO WEEKS!!!! Well, 2 weeks and a few days, and though some people may think a few days are immaterial, EVERY DAY brings something new!! 😀
It reminds me of the verse Isaiah 43:19 where God says, “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know of it?? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Well, that’s a pretty NEW THING! I keep praying, “THANK YOU, Lord Jesus, and please KEEP turning us TO YOU. Worldwide. Non-stop.
I’ve been doing a 365 Chronological Read through the Bible since January. I’ve gotten ahead of where I’m supposed to be, because it’s like rereading your favorite book! The stuff the Israelites did and that God did are like reading one of the news outlets I mentioned above. Except the names are harder to pronounce…😄
Well, we’re living in a time of History-in-the-Making. WOW!
I’ll start with local/national, and move into more local/local….
🔥🔥🔥Missouri’s Heartlander News ran a fascinating story headlined, “Missouri asks judge to ding China for $25 billion for hoarding COVID-19 protective gear after unleashing virus.” You might want to save the Missouri Heartlander News link on your Favorites Bar: Heartlandernews.com. There’s a lot of good stuff in it about Missouri!
The landmark lawsuit was originally filed in 2020 by then-AG and now U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt, who argued that, “China was responsible for the spread of COVID as well as for hoarding protective gear.” The lawsuit was initially dismissed by U.S. District Judge Stephen Limbaugh in July 2022, who said in his ruling that he had no jurisdiction over a foreign government.
However, on Monday, Feb. 3, a judge heard evidence from AG Andrew Bailey’s office that the deadly virus escaped China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology lab, and that the Chinese government further proceeded to hoard and hinder the availability of personal protective equipment and other tools to fight its spread.
Bailey reported, “The judge was engaged in our arguments and asked detailed questions. We feel confident that we will collect on the $25 billion we’re demanding in damages. And if China refuses to pay up, we will seize Chinese assets instead.”
What he means by that is Missouri will seize Missouri land currently owned by China. So, Bailey may be highly unresponsive to FOIA/Sunshine Law requests, but I would love to see this lawsuit filed by Eric Schmitt, and pursued by Andrew Bailey hold CCP (Chinese Communist Party) accountable.
Good news for Missouri!
🔥🔥I was hoping to tell you Bill Eigel was elected as Missouri’s new Chair for the GOP, but alas, no dice.
The February 1 vote went to Peter Kinder. I’ve heard upsides and downsides to Mr. Kinder, so let’s keep our eyes peeled to see what he does: does he support the establishment - or - does he support grassroots?
🔥🔥KEEP IN MIND APRIL 8 IS AN UPCOMING ELECTION!!
The Johnson County Community Health Services Board has three positions coming open April 8, 2025. So far, those who have filed for the position are:
Kit Lindsay
Megan Jaeger
Ashland Bell
Raymond James
Kit Lindsay has served as Chair of the JCCHS Board the past couple of years, and has done a very good job of it. His knowledge of automobiles and mechanics has been invaluable to the organization, and his leadership skills make our meetings organized and relaxed.
Megan Jaeger has served as Secretary of JCCHS, and her communication skills are excellent. She has been really helpful in carefully reviewing government contracts we, as a board, need to approve - or ask for more information before signing. She brings a commonsense approach to healthcare services.
Ashland Bell I don’t know. If any of you know her, would you be so kind to share your experience with her in the Comments to give all of us more understanding?
Raymond James has run for many offices in Warrensburg, and to date has not been selected by the people. He is the “brain child” behind Drag Queen Shows for children, and the leader in organizing and bringing that event to Warrensburg. He is proud of his work. When we have attended City Council meetings to stop the event in Warrensburg, Mr. James organizes groups to loudly support it. For me, he is a no-vote.
So you know how the voting works on this election, the 4 names above will be on the ballot. You will be asked to vote for 3. The 3 candidates getting the highest total number of votes will be put in office. It’s a bit different from some voting in that you don’t choose “yes” or “no” for each candidate. Since there are 4 candidates and 3 positions, the candidate with the least votes is the only one who will not gain a position.
🔥🔥You have the opportunity to give input on the services you would like to have JCCCHS provide to our community!
As you may know, JCCHS partners with Western Missouri Medical Center to gather information for our Community Health Needs Assessment every three years, and it is that time again to send out surveys to our community members.
Below is the link to the survey.
Please share this link with your family and friends!!!
It is a great way to give input on what you see are the needs of our community!!!!
The deadline for participation is Monday, March 3.
All responses are confidential, and participants will have a chance to win one of five $100 Visa gift cards.
You get to participate in identifying our community needs, AND you could get a $100 Visa gift card! Not too shabby!
🔥🔥Last and definitely NOT least, tomorrow night, Thursday, February 6, is the first JCRCC (Johnson County Republican Central Committee) meeting for 2025. Details are:
Time: 5:30pm Come early, as the doors are locked at 5:30pm.
Place: Justice Center, 101 S. Market St., Warrensburg, MO (across the street to the North of the Courthouse.
This is the first meeting since the reorganization meeting last August 20, 2023. What concerns would you like our own Republicans to address in terms of what our area needs in government? What “brags” do you have on our local government? How can our local government help us? Roads? Candidate transparency? Office holders following the Republican Platform? Getting rid of Amendment 3? Passing Initiative Petition Reform? Other?
Jot down your ideas and come tomorrow night. If Brandon does not bring it up, we should encourage him to tell us, as our Representative, what he sees happening in Jefferson City. And JCRCC Chairperson. At the same time.
