We the People of Johnson County Missouri, Sunday, August 18, 2024 🎪🎪Our Meeting is this Monday!! Our Meeting is this Monday!!! 😀
Hello Friends!!
WHAT A BUSY SUMMER!!!! I’ll tell you about that in a minute, but FIRST I want to tell you about our upcoming meeting on Monday, 8/19…TOMORROW!!
Joe Hubbard, whom I love and appreciate SO MUCH, will share with us how God called him to work with homeless/addicted people. He’ll share his and Tara’s work with Standing in the Gap, and their latest endeavor with building a women’s shelter.
There is much to love about Joe and Tara, and I’ll tell you one of the things that grabs my heart and won’t let go. They ASK God for guidance EVERY DAY, and they FOLLOW what God shows them.
WOW!!!
That’s what God asks of every one of us who call him/herself Christian. They’re doing it.
We’ll take up a love offering, so bring whatever you’d like to share! If you’re short this month you can contribute later.
We have several announcements about events occurring in Warrensburg that you may be excited to participate in.
Then our own Johnson County residents, who were delegates for the Congressional, State and National Republican Convention, will be talking about their Journey.
What was accomplished in Missouri by our delegates would and should have been national news, if our networks were not owned by the deep state.
Our grassroots folks conquered Goliath. That’s not even an exaggeration. The MO GOP currently is not our friend. BUT, We the People, the Grassroots, are pushing and fighting to regain control of our government!!!
You’ll LOVE and be INSPIRED by what our own local folks have done!!! (They said, “YES” to God.)
The Grassroots Conservative Headquarters, located on Maguire beside Arby’s (for those of you who haven’t yet visited) has been remarkably successful!!! AND IT’S STILL OPEN!!!! It’s been used to make hours and hours and HOURS of phone calls for our vetted candidates, sold TONS of awesome Trump shirts, hats, memorabilia, and provided the opportunity to explain to people what vetting is, and why it’s so important to our party.
HUGE thanks to many people for the success of the HQ!!!!! If I named everyone, it would take quite a while, but just know MANY of our We the People gave time, money, made phone calls, did door knocking, provided education to people who visited the store, and during all of it, Mike Compton made some remarkable education videos (many are QUITE entertaining!) you can find on Act4MO.org. His goal, and he hit it, was to help people sort out what was true and what was NOT about various candidates running for office. CHECK IT OUT!!!
We had some wonderful SUCCESS in the primary August 6! Both Rick Brattin, running for Senator of 31st District and Denny Hoskins, running for Secretary of State, won their primaries and will be on the ballot for this November!!! YIPPEEEEEEEE!!!!
Jerry did not win the Western Commissioner seat, and in some ways we’re both glad about that. Some other vetted candidates we supported did not win the primary this time. The story behind that is one of being willing to DO what God asks, regardless of the outcome. Our job is to be faithful and trust God with the outcome.
The position I have held as Committee Woman for the Johnson County Republican Central Committee (JCRCC) is in limbo, as there is a tie between the other candidate and me. That will be resolved by a vote of the JCRCC members Aug. 20, at the JCRCC reorganization meeting, 5:30pm at the Justice Center across the street to the North of the Courthouse. I encourage everyone to attend and see how our JCRCC currently works.
What I’ve realized over the past 2 years as a committee member, is that the committee workings are like a bikini: What you can see is interesting; what you CAN’T see is vital to life! 😉 For one thing, most committee members have not received a copy of the actual Committee Bylaws. The copy of Bylaws received by most members, if they receive one at all, is “Unform Bylaws.” However, there are more detailed Bylaws the Executive Committee refers to for internal workings.
Interesting. I discovered this when in a committee meeting, I referred to the bylaws, and was told, “You don’t have the most current edition. In my bylaws it says…”
As a member of the JCRCC, why didn’t I have a copy of those bylaws? And why weren’t they provided to me at that time? How can a committee member be assured s/he has the “latest version” of the bylaws, as there is no date on the copy I received? Is there a different set of bylaws given to members of the Executive Committee that the rest of the members do not get? Lots of questions. How can an organization run when members don’t have or know the same set of rules?
Anyway, I encourage you to attend the JCRCC reorganization meeting. Again, the info on that is:
Tuesday, Aug 20
5:30pm (come early, as they lock the building at 5:30pm)
Justice Center (across the street to the NORTH of the Courthouse)
Okay, I’ll give you a synopsis of our summer. Skip this if you have better things to do, just know it’s been a time of learning to lean of God.
Jerry and I filed to run for county offices: Jerry for Western District Commissioner; I filed for Columbus Committeewoman for JCRCC
At Wendell Davis’ Celebration of Life, Dennis Boling confronted Jerry and me, saying we were not welcome there, the family didn’t want us. We thought it was a weird joke, but he angrily assured us it was “true” and went for reinforcements. He returned with Troy Matthews, our current Presiding Commissioner, and another large gentleman, and the 3 men surrounded us. Troy told Jerry that we needed to leave. Jerry asked why and Troy said, “You know why!” However, we DIDN’T know why and told them so. Dennis Boling said, Wendell had written a statement that, “Jerry Ellis was not welcome at his funeral.” This was a complete lie, and I told him so. Long story, short, we broke through their circle, went to sign the Memorial book, and explained to people who asked us, “What was that all about?!”, that we had no idea what Dennis Boling and Troy Matthews were up to. We were able to speak with Chad Davis and Christi, letting them know what had happened, and they were shocked. Chad said, “I’ll take care of this.” So. Quite a shocking and heart-wrenching experience.
In May, Jerry was bucked from his horse, breaking 6 ribs and collapsing a lung. The next 8 days we spent at Research Hospital in ICU and ICU step-down units.
I became a farm hand with the help of SO MANY friends (Tommy Wiley and family, Faith Taylor, Kirk Walker and family, Grant Matthews….who have I forgotten…?) THANK YOU!
I also became the yard acreage mower, which was interesting, as I’ve not used a zero-turn mower before. Again, SO MUCH HELP!!! Thank you to our friends Kim & Rod Findley, Damian Smith, and Dale & Brandi Roof! Justice Wiley fixed our mower, so I could finally use it! Thank you!!
My yard mowing skills are low. Our yard looks like whoever mowed it should have been arrested for DUI. My flower garden weeding standards have plummeted, as have my house cleaning, substack writing, and cooking standards. I’m not sure they can get much lower, at this point! 😂
Our nutcase dog, Bear, developed a huge pus pocket (eww!) that entailed a trip to KC to the Dog Emergency Dept, and later to the Odessa Vet Clinic, where they drained off nearly 2 gallons(!) of pus. Who knew that was even a thing?!!!
Hours and days were spent phone calling for our vetted candidates!!!! We learned SO MUCH about campaigning!!
Hours were spent making mailers and business cards for Jerry, me and other folks running for offices.
Duke, Jerry’s palomino horse, was struck dead by lightning. WHAT?!?!? That was a very sad day.
Our upstairs is being painted, so we moved downstairs. They finished Friday, and it looks awesome! Now we’re cleaning every inch of baseboard, crown molding, carpet, ducts, wall decor, furniture, carpet, tile, wood floors, and slowly recouping the upstairs. Jerry still gets fatigued quicker than normal, so we’re both running on God’s strength.
God is AMAZING. Don’t ever doubt His Strength, and the love and help of friends and family. Ever.
THANK YOU ALL!!!
SEE YOU TOMORROW (MONDAY)!!!!
SHARE AS DESIRED.
