Hi Folks!

WOW! It happened!! I’m now on the Johnson County Community Health Services Board. 🎉✨ We even got the most votes of all 6 candidates running!!! I’m humbled. Truly, truly humbled. So many of you worked so hard to make this happen, and I want to serve our community to the best of what God wants to do through me. I have a feeling I’ll get a lot of opportunities to grow as a Christian. Thank you all!!!

Monday night I met Chris Barrett from Gays Against Groomers. He is a delightful young man, and we spent some time talking about the J3 Drags for Kids Show. He feels very strongly that it’s grooming and wrong and says he ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT want Drags saying or acting as if they represent him as a gay man. I can fully understand and appreciate that.

I asked him if he would be willing to help us make a plan to keep the drags from happening on June 3. Initially, he had a family thing he needed to do, but I spoke with him just now and he has worked it out to be able to attend with us this Friday!! YESSSSS!!!

He has already put out an “alert” tweet to Gays Against Groomers about the show here in Warrensburg. Some of their folks may live close enough to help us as well.

I’ve been looking through what the Missouri constitution has to say about sexually oriented shows for kids. It seems to me we have a case, but as we all know liberals look at the law differently than do we.

I called Rick Brattin’s office yesterday to follow up on what he might be able to do in amending the current bill for protecting children that has passed the Senate, but still sits in the House. If they can amend it to ban drags for kids, it would still have to pass the House, be signed by the Governor, and wouldn’t go into effect until August. That would help us next year, but we still need to figure out how to stop it this year.
