We the People of Johnson Co MO, Thursday, March 30, 2023 💡👺 Follow up Meeting for Kids Drag Queen Show

Hi Folks,

Let me readily admit that running for the Health Board has diverted my energies from our planning meeting. I’ll be glad for less hinderance after April 4!!! 😄

Regardless, one of our peeps called me yesterday and I committed to coming up with potential dates for the meeting. The folks I’ve heard from said Monday or Thursday is a better evening, so I propose:

Thursday, April 6 - or - Monday, April 10.

As far as location, we can accommodate up to about 15 people at our house, but if it’s larger than that we’ll be pretty crowded. I checked on the small rooms at the Senior Center at the Recreation Center, and those price at $25/hr. The downside however is we have to book at least 2 weeks in advance, so we wouldn’t be able to used them for this meeting.

I’m very open for ideas on a meeting place.

One of our peeps has connections with BACA - Bikers Against Child Abuse, and suggested getting them involved. I’m open to that, and can see some advantages to working together. She mentioned how impressive it would be for about 50 bikers to show up on-site and divert attention away from a “fun drag queen show for kiddies - Whoopee!” to “What the Elks Club is hosting is child abuse.”

So.

Get back to me on dates and if you know of a suitable location. I’m excited!
