Hi folks!
In terms of voting GOP, the color and gender gaps are narrowing.
Interesting news from CNN. Although the dividing line between Liberals & Conservatives may be hot & heavy, it looks like people of all colors are pulling together toward Conservative values. YAYAYYYYYYY!!!! Maybe sanity is returning to the USA!
In addition to the narrowing color gap, there is a much smaller gender gap than we saw four years ago at an equivalent point in the election cycle.
Polls show that men are backing generic Republican House candidates by an average of 9 points. Women are supporting generic Democratic House candidates by an average of 7 points. That makes for a 16-point gender gap.
Although the shift is small, it shows a couple of important things:
Apparently, the overturn of Roe v Wade did not widen the gap between men and women voters.
The Roe v Wade overturn has not dissuaded women from voting GOP. You would have to go back to the 2014 cycle-- a good one for the GOP -- to see women backing Republican candidates at higher levels than they are now.
All of this assumes of course, that you can define what a woman is. Like you’re a biologist or something.
What about Covid, you may ask.
What about it? In this election cycle NOBODY is talking about Covid! 😂🤣😅 Well, okay maybe I’m exaggerating just a tiny bit. But ONLY a TINY BIT! In the Times poll less than 1% picked the coronavirus. The percentage was so low it rounded down to 0%. In a Monmouth survey released earlier this month, 1% of Americans said the coronavirus was the biggest concern facing their family at this time. So there. One percent.
Economic and inflation concerns dominated. How SHOCKING! Of notable consequence is that the Left is probably hurt politically by voters deprioritizing the coronavirus. The pandemic is the only major issue for which Biden’s approval rating is higher than his overall disapproval numbers. (Loooooong and serious hyena laugh here.)
What other polls are out there indicating GOP is gaining speed?
Confidence in schools: You know all those core educational subjects the Left socialists have hijacked? Like math? Spelling? Reading? History? Those are just a few. NOT TO WORRY!! The NEA has shoved those out but replaced them with gloriously gratifying “social education” items like Critical Race Theory, transgenderism, pornographic library books, gay sex ed….I mean REALLY! What more could you want?
Well, apparently quite a bit more. Just 28% of Americans say they have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in US public schools -- a near all-time low. A mere 14% of Republicans told Gallup they had a great deal or quite a lot of confidence, the lowest since at least 1973. It seems possible that group hadn’t had their coffee yet.
Fair journalism: A new Pew Research Center study showed that 44% of American journalists said members of their profession should strive to give every side equal coverage. Among the US public at large, 76% said journalists should strive to give every side equal coverage. Seems to be a bit of a gap there. Let’s see, 76% minus 44% equals….who knows? The missing percentage probably took math during the math hiatus years.
The glass is half full: The aforementioned New York Times poll found that an astounding 77% of voters said the country was heading in the wrong direction. Ya think? That said, 60% of these same voters were at least somewhat optimistic we could get back on the right track over the next decade.
I’d say that all depends on what happens at the voting booth. And during the vote count, like whether or not it gets stopped at 3:00am; adjusted and restarted. And whether the ballot is fully completed by a living legal citizen of the US voting only once per election. And if the vote is put into a supervised ballot depository or one of the hundreds of Zuck-boxes (which rhymes with suck-boxes) supervised by strangely non-working video cameras and located down dark alleys known only to about 2000 Mules.
But ya know…IT COULD HAPPEN!!! Can you say “PRAY”? Me, too.
Sadly, I saw a poll (taken by a retail-focused market research firm who is non political and credible) that said that 44% of the people over 18 surveyed said they were either somewhat or very concerned about the wuflu. I was incredulous that it could be that high, and posted it on FB. Several people who worked with the elderly and one who worked in social services said that there ARE still people out there who are scared of it. Despite (albeit suppressed) viable treatments that lessen the impact. Sad commentary on how the propaganda machine works. I am in Jackson, and still see people masked up in church, grocery store, etc., although that number is shrinking little by little.
